While production has started at the brand new factory of NXFiltration, development of an exciting product continuous: hollow fiber nanofiltration membranes!
NXFiltration – a spin-off from Twente University – has worked on new recipes for ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes for the last two years. The company wants to distinguish itself with their unique hollow fiber nanofiltration membrane.
Polyehtersulfone (PES) is the basis of this innovative product. The versatile material is, in comparison to other materials, particularly suitable to “layer-by-layer” create membranes with small pores and narrow pore size distribution. The number of (negatively and positively) charged layers determines the properties of the membrane and creates a chlorine stable membrane product, which allows to work with robust cleaning agents and will reduce cleaning intervals.
Possible applications include:
Convergence and NXFiltration have partnered to proof the concept and develop these membranes with a testing system for hollow fiber NF and UF membranes. The system allows NXFiltration to easily characterize their membranes.
